It does make it seem complicated to do a simple task,
but that is because it gives you more control/options,
than you may be used to.
Working from the timeline display:
The first step would be to create an object of the frame(s)
you want to cut. To do that first set the display to 1 frame
(look for the control at the bottom right "zoom" as default)
Then just move the red selection line to the start of the
frame(s) you want to remove. Just click on the top of
the timeline where the seconds are displayed, at the start
of the frame you want. Use the arrow keys to make sure
you are where you want to be.
Now you have a lot of options but try this; click on the
icon of the scissors cutting a strip, this will split the track at
that point. You will now have two clips on the timeline,
with the same name. One with everything before the split
and one with everything after the split. The one after the
split will be highlighted.
So now we need to set the end of the object/clip you
wish to remove. To do that just move the red selection
line to the start of the frame after the object/clip you wish
to remove. If it's nearby just use the arrow keys. Your
mouse wheel can help as well as the sliders. Now click
on the "split scene" button/icon again. (If you click on the
downarrow next to the button, you will see some other
options to do what you want, but try those later.)
You should now have a track with three objects/clips
and the last one is highlighted. They all have the same
name and we could change that, but since we are just
removing the one center object/clip, and we will want
the rest to have the same name anyway, we won't
bother.
Click on the object/clip that you made with the frame(s)
you want to remove so that it is highlighted/selected.
Now just delete it (with the "Delete" key or the "X" icon
on the tool bar above the timeline) or cut it (remove it
from the timeline and put it in the clipboard).
There are of course many other things you can do with/
to the objects you define. There are other ways to remove
parts of a video using this program but this way gives you
some understanding of "objects" as the programmers are
using it here.

This is the very reason why I donīt use my Magix Edit Pro 12 much...it has
all you need & far more, it's not really dificult to learn, but rather hard
to remember every detail. I'm not specifically referring to cut or delete
scenes, this abundance of details is present in almost all areas of the
program & at times it becomes frustrating. It provides far more tools than
Pinnacle has ever provided, but I always end up using Pinnacle, now Studio
11, due to its simplicity.

I agree and that's one of the reasons I seldom recommend it
without a lot of caveats (in times past, it also had some major
compatibility issues, that you could overcome if you were
an experienced PC user, but that would make it unusable for
someone new at it.).
The number of programs in my toy -er- toolbox has long ago
passed the number where I can keep everything straight just
by memory alone. I have occasionally started out planning to
use one approach, only to have it dawn on me later that "this"
program does it a different way.
My "work"flow is such that I seldom complete a project
just using a single program. In fact I'm quite sure I've never
used all the features of any of the major programs I have,
MEP for sure. Perhaps that's why I like programs dedicated
to a single or very narrow set of functions. VideoReDo,
BluffTitler, Encoders, and Authoring programs, BeSweet,
Audacity, Gimp2, and such stay pretty close to a single
purpose, no matter how complex they can get.
I also agree that knowing I will probably have to "figure
it out" more if I use MEP; tends to make me reach for
my Ulead VideoStudio 10+, for most simple things.

Thanks to your help.
Now I'm just triyng and I would like to understand that issue:
When we cut/delete some frames we don't delete them from the file
recorded.
Not with Magix Movie Edit and not with Ulead Video Studio
I mean if I have 2GB of movie - 2 hours - and "delete" frames I don't
want just to have a 1/2 hour of movie I still have a file of 2GB.
That's sure.
Ther are some software that DELETE footage to reduce the file when we
delete frames? Or all soft works like Magix and Ulead? Just like we do
for audio with CoolEdit2000. Or I'm expecting too much?

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean. If you only
removed a few frames, you might have a resulting file of
the same or even slightly larger in size. But if you removed
any significant amount the new file should be smaller than
the old file.

Ok I'll try with my bad english.
With Magix Movie Edit or with Ulead Video Studio when I capture video
from a cancorder (analog), and let's say 10minutes with 100MB
If I select 5 minutes and save the work the video file (AVI or MPEG)
it's always 100MB.
There are another files - .MVD (20KB) - for Magix or .VSP (20KB) for
Ulead. Those files changes. I think these files save information
about
the movie. If I delete 9 minutes the file remains with 100MB and yhe
information about the remaining footage is in the MVD or VSP files and
when
I play the video it plays only 1 minute.
Some thing wrong with this?

The MVD and VSP files are the "Project " files that store
all the work you have told the program to do when it
renders or outputs your edited movie. Nothing should have
actually been done to the source video and audio files you
are using in your project. When you are through editing
and want to save your movie as a completed movie file
with all your edits applied [ in Magix MEP you "Export
movie" then you select the "Video as" the type of video
you need. If you plan further editing or you want to use
a different encoding program then select "as uncompressed
video..." ] (for Ulead VS when you are finished editing
you use the "Share" tab and the "Create VideoFile" )
If you go to the "File" tab and use the ("Save" or "Save as")
or ["Save movie" or "Save movie as..."] you will only be
saving your progress in editing the project, not an edited
video file. None of the editing you specified in the MVD
or VSP files will be used to create a new edited file, yet.
With both programs you can also continue on in the
program's authoring and DVD burning functions. While
I prefer a dedicated DVD Authoring program, both these
editing packages have some interesting and useful DVD
menu creation functions.
