I am looking for a software package which can convert the multiple VOB
files of a DVD main movie into a single XVID AVI file. Preferrably one
which can use an externally installed codec, instead of a built in one
(but not all that necessary).
OS = Windows XP SP2.
I am essentially looking for a Doctor Divx like program, but with
support for Xvid or others.
I have tried Super, which does what I want, but it seems to only spit
out 1 AVI per encoded per encoded VOB rather than one single AVI.

With the freeware programs you need to ripp the DVD to your harddrive
before you can convert it to a XviD/DivX compressed AVI file.
Use this freeware program to ripp the DVD to your harddrive
DVDFab HD Decrypter - http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

I use AutoGK, but for more flexibility (eg with subtitles) I had to use
DVDFab Platinum.(try on 30 day trial)
