I have and had many problems in burning AVI files to DVD using Nero 6. This
is very frustrating as I know that
other colleagues who download these files from the same legitimate Group
through Rapidshare, can produce excellent
quality DVD of operas, picture and sound are perfect. This happen rarely to
me and I would be so grateful if you could
advise me about what can be wrong.
I had Nero 7 and that was impossible to manage. Now I use Nero 6 which seems
to be easier to use but still
not getting good results.
I've tried and purchased Cucusoft in the past in order to convert the AVI
files, not much joy with it either, the picture
was distorted and often Nero7 didn't like the result conversion.
When I try to burn the files I always check that no program is running at
the same time.
I'd like you know what I am doing wrong and/or is my system not adequate to
do this task.
My system: Microsoft Window XP
Home edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Intel(R) Pentium (R) M processor 512 MB of Ram

I'm not sure what your problem is exactly but I would be leary of
trying to do what you want to do with only 512MB of memory. It might
be enough but I have 1GB of memory and I sometimes run into problems.

Very grateful to you for a straight answer.
I had suspected that the memory could be one of the problems if not THE
problem.
What I am trying to do is as follows: I download AVI files through
Rapidshare, the instruction is to
join them with HJ Split, I do this with no problems. The result is one AVI
file which should be burned in other to
get a DVD. I don't need chapters. The files are relatively small. Nero will
burn some but with poor result, or will give me an error.
I am not so experienced to know what the problem is. I'll try to add memory.
Many thanks again.
75% of the time I use Nero, I get jaggies along the bottom part of the
movie, so annoying. ConvertXtoDVD is all I use now, burns anything you
throw at it. Its converts and burns all in one session. Loved Nero's
menu editing features tho. Doug

As sniffster said, VSO ConvertXtoDVD (& CopyToDVD) are the best so
far. Also, the quality of the .avi's you d'load will show in the
conversion too. re: your "poor" memory. Set the software to a slower
speed (try on a short .avi to save time) PS. Load VSO ConvertXtoDVD &
CopyToDVD into the same folder to get the conversion & copy auto
succession.
