Can anyone suggest a free DVD ripper for use on new HP computer, 5
Gigabyte memory, 500 gigabyte hard drive, dual core Athlon with Windows
Vista. (I'm new to all this.)
AnyDVD is costly, but the demo does work, but my copy will expire in a
few days. My old DVD43 program will not work on the new computer with 64
bit (?).
I'm retired on minimal income!
What do all of you use out there? Any suggestions.

I have no experience with 64-bit but DVDFab Platinum is so popular it's a
good bet it works. There is a stripped-down version (everything except
ripping is disabled) that is free:

I like the ease of use of DVDSmith Movie Backup. It might need to be
used in conjunction with DVD Shrink to get rid of unneeded DVD
features. Both are freeware and both work fine on Vista64.

well why wouldn't it?
64bit Vista keeps a (x86) Programs folder in its directory for compatibility
and automatically installs 32bit programs to that folder.
