Converting mpeg to wmv?

My daughter has a Zune, and would like to put some vid clips on it,
but of course, its WMV or nothing.

No problem getting the DVD's to mpeg on the hard drive, but does she
have to pay for some commercial software to get from mpeg to wmv?

I have looked, and not found, anything that can do the job for free.
She is okay with paying if that is the only option, but if someone has
done the work, and made it available, well.......

Much obliged for any pointers or suggestions.

I don't think you looked very far a simple Google query "mpeg to wmv
freeware" threw up dozens of freeware programs - try
