Default Converting DVDs

Hi there,
I have a video segment about a minute long that I want to capture from a DVD
and convert it into a WMP or MPEG file. The problem is that the free “DVD
converter” software I’ve tried so far locks up my system. I’m running
windows 98-SE.

Any suggestions for a free conversion that works?

You will have a hard time doing anything involving video/audio encoding
using windows 98se.
It is a 9 year old operating sytem.

There's got to be something that will work, I don't care even if it's
slow....

Very difficult with Win98 -SE but you could try DVDDecrypter first to rip
the DVD and then just rename the VOB files to MPEG.

You could try MPEGStreamclip as long as you have Quicktime on the your
computer.

Basically Win98 was a dog for audio and video work. Time to update to a
newer computer methinks.

Default Re: Converting DVDs

Use DVDDecrypter to copy to harddrive

then re-author with DVDShrink.

with shrink you can set the start and stop points (originally intended to
remove title / credits from films)

select your 60s segment and re-author. shrink can output a iso file for you
to burn to DVD, or a full set of files on your harddrive.

this will include a VOB file of your segment. change extension to .mpg and
you are done.
