Default Can't decrypt DVD

when I try to decrypt a recent dvd movie I get the decryption process
stopping at VTS_01_1.VOB and then retrying about twenty times and then I get
this message within the DVD Decrypter box:
Device(1:0:0)Lite-on DVDRW SHW-16355 YSOZ(D:0 (ATA)
ScsiStatus:OXO2 Interpretation: check condition

CDB: 28 00 00 00 51 A9 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10)-Sector: 20905

Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 11 05 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: L-EC uncorrectable error

Abort Retry Ignore

I have not gotten this in the past when I have decrypted and I also tried
doing it on my other computer and got the same problem.

Is there some new encryption that is being used on DVD movies?

Vince

Yes :-)
There are many new ways that the movie companies
has screewed up the new DVDs.

You can try this free program to decrypt your problem DVD
DVDFab HD Decrypter

Have downloaded this decrypter, thank you. But now the problem is in writing
the DVD. I used the DVD shringk program that I have but had no success at
all. I also tried the computer with nero but could not do a direct burn to
disc because it did not recognize the files from the dvd shrink. It appears
to have decrypted the dvd but now I just can't figure out how to burn to
DVD???
Thanks Vince

Do you have a full version of Nero with Nero Recode 2? If it is OEM software
bundled with a burner, you need to use a program that will convert the files
to an iso file for Nero to burn it to a disc. Try DVD Shrink. It will
decrypt, shrink, encode, write an iso file, and then use Nero to write the
disc. This web site has downloads and instructions for different programs,

1. Rip the DVD to harddrive with DVDFab HD Decrypter
2. Shrink the ripped DVD with DVD Shrink
2b. Save the shrunken DVD as "ISO Image File"
3. Burn the newly created ISO file with ImgBurn http://www.imgburn.com/
or with Nero (Disc Image) or with your old DVD Decrypter program
(Mode-> ISO-> Write)

BTW.
If DVD Shrink don't want to load the ripped files, then download FixVTS
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...ols/fixvts.cfm
(Use Server 2)
Here is a tutorial how to use FixVTS

I finally got the program to work. I did do as above and remembered to make
the ISO image file. After that DVD shrink goes immediately to burn so I have
to put the blank DVD in (but I guess it would remind me) before I backup. I
will take a look at those two programs you just suggested.
Thanks for your help
Vince
