I have downloaded The Return of Allo Allo Part 1.avi from veoh, and I can
watch it on my monitor without problem. I would like to put it (and 2 and 3)
on DVD for TV watching. Note that there are no underlines in the "filename,"
just spaces. When I have veoh's library on the screen I can play the videos
but I cannot drag them to a converter. I can't cut and paste them for use in
a converter.
I have tried putting c:\users\bob\vifeo\veoh\v850544q5cpyske into converter
slots (the alphanumerics are for Part 1) and I get "wrong path." Any ideas
out there? I see a lot of messages from people who are successfully
converting, so it must be possible.

What software are you using to convert, Bob? The easiest setup is VSO
ConvertXtoDVD & CopyToDvd.
Re: Can't cut and paste (or drag and drop) avi file
I have tried ConvertXtoDVD (and WinAVI Video Converter). The problem in both
instances is that they want me to enter a path and filename, and when I go
into my VeohTV library I can neither cut-and-paste or drag-and-drop the file
name. Note what I said in my original post. I have not been able to find the
files using the Vista search function or by looking at the Windows Explorer
file tree...it gets down to c:\users\bob\video\veoh and stops (nothing in
the veoh folder).

Bob, I hope your e-mail is OK. Sent you a "tut" for ConvertXtoDVD.

Re: Can't cut and paste (or drag and drop) avi file
If this is a duplicate post, I'm sorry...
Veoh is a free downloading program (www.veoh.com). You do have to register.
I have changed the status of the downloaded files from "saved," with the
padlock closed, to "not saved," with the padlock open. Doesn't make any
difference in the long run. Every conversion program that you or anyone else
has suggested runs up against the same roadblock: they require that I
designate the filename of the file I want to convert, and I am unable to do
that.
Join veohTV (download from Veoh home page) by registering, and you will see
several dropdown menus. Click on Search, type in "The Return of 'Allo, Allo"
and you will get a list of files to be downloaded. Download one and then try
to select or drag its filename to a converter program. Can't be done as far
as I can tell. You will be able to see and hear the video while at your
computer, but in my experience you cannot move the file. I'm more than ready
to give up.

From a quick look at that website it appears that what you have downloaded
is NOT an avi file, but a flash video file (much like YouTube). They are
intended to view online or with their viewing program only.
It may have been an avi file when the original user uploaded it to veoh
that was then converted by them to a flash file.
Look for a flash-to-avi converter program to change it to a format you can
use for a DVD conversion.
