Trying to convert finished DVD-R MOVIE back to wmp xvid data
Hi-
Needless to say I am a newbee...How can a finished DVD-R movie be
converted back to wmp (XVID) data...Say the movies IN PAL and burned
to NTSC, How THEN to convert this back to data (hopefully then NTSC
data) TO SAVE ON A DATA DISK so to watch on a Pioneer DVR-541H
multisystem dvd recorder..which plays NTSC xvid data disks...
Any help is appreciated...

Can I ask why you want to go to all that trouble? According to
specifications of that recorder, it is capable of playing back PAL/NTSC
DVDs without bothering to go through the time and quality loss in the
conversion.

Yes, you are probably right..however I understand that I would need a
video converter in order to make the change from
NTSC to PAL..since the DVR-541H doesn't convert by itself but is just
able to play PAL when a converter is used..
Does anyone know of a good video converter ?? ..Most seem very
expensive ...

Once again, according to the specifications it is able to play back both
NTSC and PAL without needing a converter. Give it a try.

You want to convert BACK? or you want to have both DVD and WMP? if so,
if can be very simple, quick, and no conversion needed.
1. Authoring a DVD
2. DO NOT delete the original, but burn the original WMP to DVD or CD as
DATA and you have it.
