sony dvdrw write error?

my sony dvd rw has been giving me this write error notice lately.
Sometimes, switching from Nero Express to Dvd Shrink works, Sometimes
back to Nero Recode. ect. But im curious as to what are my
options to diagnose the writer? I tried the trouble shooter, but it
doesnt give me a proper checkbox selection to continue through.

This happened with my Panasonic E-30 standalone once, and all i
needed to do was change the brand of discs. Peeps said, that a
burner gets "tired" of the same old discs and starts to spit em out.
Maybe this will work for this too? I have a sony Vaio vgc 830 2 years
old.

Using Taio yuden dvd-rs.
