Default Phliips HDD replacement

Hi all,

I have a Philips DVDR5350h dvd/hardrive player with built in 160 gb
harddrive. What I was wondering was if it possible to replace this harddrive
with a larger one. How would I go about copying films stored on old
harddrive and so on.

Have tried to explore it in Windows, but it's formatted in an unrecognizable
format.

Thanks,
SC

It's doubtful that a large hard drive would work, it would probably work as
a 160gb. I know it's been tried on some of the other brands and when you do
the format in setup, the software defaults the size of the disk that was
originally installed.

Sometimes just sticking the drive in a Windows XP or Vista maachine and
booting into windows will corrupt or blow the format of the drive.

Its very bad to do this with a TIVO drive, i'd assume the same with a Philips
DVR one. XP writes to a sector of the disk.
