How To Make DVD disk from AVI?

I have inherited a few 100-500 MB avi clips from a deceased friend,
and want to place them on a DVD for TV showing.

I would like to create a menu-index to what is on a disk, so that each
clip can be selected by choice.

What software do you guys use? Recommend? Maybe you can even tell me
why you chose what you use?

I am doing this now, creating DVDs from AVI files downloaded from
Demonoid. I use NeroVisionExpress to create a DVD image and import
several of the AVI files. In NVE you can also create a menu with each
clip selectable. Then I write the image to the hard drive and use
NeroBurningROM to burn the DVD.

I use Procoder 2 to encode to MPG2 and Tmpgenc's DVD Author to create the
DVD files with a menu. Why? It works very well.
