Default DVD recording in AVI

Hi,I am new to burning DVD's and I have a question.I have downloaded a
few AVI files,Movies,that will play in windows media but if i burn it to
a dvd it won't work in my DVD player.I used Xilisoft DVD Creator and it
burnt fine but won't play in the recorder.Just on my pc.I tried using
nero,dvd shrink,cheetah and a couple others.Can anyone give me some
insight? I would really appreciate it

You have to make sure your DVD player will play
..avi files (or Divx). The Philips dvd players will.
Also, you need to save the .avi files as DATA and
not as VIDEO files. Or, you need to convert the .avi
files into .mpg files.

You need ConvertXtoDVD & CopyToDVD. .avi won't run on a DVD player
from a DVD.
When an .avi is converted to .dvd it greatly increases in file size.
You won't need DVDShrink or DVDDecryptor either. Just convert & copy
to dvd.

I just did one, an episode of House M.D. in AVI format. I converted it
to DVD with ConvertXtoDVD, and it plays fine on my Panasonic. You can
download a trial version.

Thanks.I tried ConvertXtoDVD and it worked fine.I appreciate the help.
