Default Do you know anything about DVD burners that stop burning +R discs, but can still burn RW discs?

The DVD burner in my laptop can no longer burn +R DVDs and it can only
burn RW's. (I haven't checked to see if it can still burn -R's)

Can you tell me whether I can fix this myself or does it sound like I
have to bring it in to a repair shop? Thank you again.

I think a different laser is used. Should probably be repaired or cleaned.

Knowing something YES, knowing everything NO. In general the laser uses
different laser to burn different media, so if yours doesn't burn DVD+R then
it means there may be something wrong with the laser uses to burn DVD+R
media.

You can try to clean it, if it doesn't work or you know for sure that the
laser is bad and you don't want to use DVD-R then just replace the burner
with newer one.
