I'm not even sure whether transitions is the right term, but I 'd
like to create some kind of pause between clips on a compilation DVD
when "play all" is selected. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm using
Tmpgenc Dvd Author at present.
I thought of maybe capturing the final frame of each clip and using it
as a slideshow but there has to be an easier way (I hope)

I don't know which version of TDA you are using, but
you should be able to add a short black clip to the end
of your tracks. Just use a black still image as the video
input to an MPEG 2 encoder, to create such a clip.
(If you can find a GOP that is all black in your video,
you could use the simple cut editing tool in TDA to
make such a clip.) Then you can add it in TDA, as
many times as needed.
If you wanted you could create a longer "Intermission"
clip, with a catchy tune and video.

Thanks. It's actually quicker than I thought to save the final frame
as a picture and then insert it as a slideshow. Not very elegant but
it gives you a bit of a breather after each clip
