Default Editing MPEG files - my solution

I've posted a couple of HELP messages here seeking help in finding an
easy and logical way to edit VOB files - I was wanting to produce my
own edited versions of movies I own for home consumption -- couple of
Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movies to have just the song and dance
numbers, and one of my wife's favourite comedies, Love Actually, minus
all the tacky scenes with Keira Knightley and Liam Neeson and his kid.
After trying editing facilities on DVDShrink (good, but introduce
noticeable pauses between edits) and Adobe Premiere (a bit too steep a
learning curve for my amateur use) I thought I'd let you all know that
I've found VideoRedo Plus a great solution. Easy editing of downloaded
VOB or Nero Showtime MPEG files with no need for reconversion to any
other format, and the resulting video is seamless, with no funny
hitches or frozen-frames between edited sections.
I found one slight problem -- not sure whether it's in the program or
in my RAM -- but if I was editing say a 1 gig file, with about three
or four sections being removed, that file would sometimes seize up
about halfway through the job and I'd have to quit it, and lose all
the edits I'd done.
The solution was simplicity itself. After two or three major edits,
simply save and close the file. Then re-open that new smaller file and
finish the job. No more failures. Couldn't be happier....
Now I'll have a go at editing Citizen Kane to get rid of all the
scenes with Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten, then do a special edit of
Gone With the Wind to get rid of Vivien Leigh. Next comes my special
edit of Wizard of Oz, removing that obnoxious brat Judy Garland. What
next, I wonder ....
Anyway, that's my unpaid unaffiliated ad for VideoRedo Plus. Hope this
helps someone out there.

May I suggest cutting a swath through Star Wars and getting rid of all
the scenes with weird spacecraft?

Or, how about all biblical movies and cutting all scenes with anyone
having a beard?

And finally, may I suggest all the Rocky movies and getting rid of all
the boxing scenes?

A compilation of all Tom Cruise films but with all his bits cut out
just in case they are messages from Xenu in disguise.

A compilation of all John Travolta films but with all his bits cut out
just in case they are messages from Xenu in disguise.

And of course I've gotten rid of all those stupid nightclub scenes
from Casablanca. And that sloppy sentimental stuff about Paris.
They'll always have Paris. We don't need it.
