Some things are worth paying for - such as low light images without the
banding that everyone except you believes in

So you're a bit ****ed because Samsung have produced a better version of the
K10? - that's life, try to cope.

I just checked U.S. prices for the K10D and the Samsung. Straight
body, K10D is $850 (minus 50 buck rebate), Samsung is $1000. That's
at B&H. Not for me.

UK prices, Charlie. The Samsung twin-lens kit sells for substantially less
than the Pentax equivalent, and has twice the warranty.

You mean that there *are* some K10D's that meter properly and produce
images without those attractive noise patterns?!! - amazing, what an
astonishing world we live in! (s******)

I daresay that you're the sort of clueless fool who would demand to see the
hole in the Titanic's side before getting into a lifeboat - for most people,
at least those with a minimum of three correctly functioning brain cells,
the writing is on the wall and it's extremely legible

At the moment Pentax is standing on the corner like a Tokyo tart, just
waiting for someone to buy her.........I suppose you could say that Pentax
is well and truly shagged bwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

For whatever reason, that Samsung is MIA, where exactly can you find
stock in the U.S.? Kind of hard to sell vapourware.
Reminds me of the Olympus E-400 debacle.

I find it a bit odd that Samsung commands a higher price in the US - are
they more associated with higher end cameras?, I wouldn't have thought so.

In the UK, while Samsung have a good reputation for other consumer products,
they would be last on the list for anyone thinking about a DSLR - which, I
suppose, explains the lower pricing as they build up credibility.

All I can say, having bought a GX-10, is that their stated goal to be a
major player in this market should not be dismissed lightly - they've made
some significant improvements to the K10D and now seem to getting the
message that purchasers of this type of product require firmware updates and
accessories.

They have the resolve and the financial clout to make them a company to
watch in the DSLR world. I expect their new CMOS chip to be used in
subsequent models, and that might well get them well and truly airborne.

And the Samsung only supports DNG so you need double the memory compared to
PEF files when you shoot RAW.

Here you go again, "they've made some significant improvements to the K10D"

just what are these "significant improvements to the K10D"???

Happy to if it was actually true, show me these photos that you have, I have
yet to see any problems and the only photos that others seem to be able to
show problems is where the shots are 4-6 stops underexposed, for Gods sake
whats with that, you sound like a RichA clone???
