I have Adobe Photo Downloader, part of Photoshop Album Starter, and Fuji
FinePixViewer. Unfortunately, I can not set a default directory to
download my photos to. I tried going into regedit to change it, but the
changes I made do not affect the directory they download to. Does anybody
know how to change the default directory in either of these programs or
know of a freeware program that will download to my choice of directories
and delete the files from my camera? Thanks.

Why bother using any kind of "Downloader" program.
Windows will alow you to just drag the files from the Camera "Drive" to
whatever Folder on your HDD you want.
It would be even easier, quicker and safer if you used a USB2 Card Reader,
which are very cheap to buy.

Maybe I am a bit confused, but when _I_ open Adobe Photo Downloader it
displays a dialog with two sections, "Source" and "Import Settings". And the
first entry in the "Import Settings" is the "Location" where the photos will
be stored. Are you getting a different dialog?

For havens sake! Why would you want to mess around with the registry?

I looked for somethign like that, but it is not in the dowloader. I did
finally find it on the in preferences in the main program. It was annoying
to always change the directory it was gettign stored into.
I like the finepix program better in that I can edit and adjust colors and
brightness, etc. as soon as I get the photos on the computer, but do not
want the date as part of the download directory. That is extremely
annoying.
