Hi, During vacation had pics from camera memory chip put onto CD...now home
and find only the first 100 of the 400 pics are on the CD.
Is there a possibility the missing 300 pics could be on the CD but I'm just
not able to view them in the normal way....and if so how to locate and view
them?
Thanks. J

Try using a file recovery program like Recovery Manager from Sony, a free
download.

The disc was probably written as a multi-session CD, although any CD
reader used in the last 8 years or so should be able to read those fine.
How old is your computer? Have you tried the disc in a different
computer?

Doubt that would help for a cd. Who burned the cd, canon put files in a
unique directory that will hold a given number of files, if your camera
does similar, it's possible that if the chip held more than one
directory, only one was copied.
To check the complete contents of cd, use the free download isobuster.

If it was written as a multi-session CD can I tell this from the CD?

Also, and once you've tried everything else, see if a/the session hasn't
been closed, and if so, close it. Then have a look.

I mean card - ref how many chips on the card don't know.
Previous CD's I've just viewed in the usual way without problem...since this
one only shows some of the pics I asked the guy to transfer and assuming he
tried to put them all on I just wondered if on this occasion he had but some
were hidden somehow...it was a reputable outlet...but in Vancouver and I'm
now in UK :-)

It's not important to know how many. I was just pointing out that a
card is not a chip, the same way a car is not a tire.
