Kodak Z712IS and Battery Life?

I have a new Kodak Z712IS and want to know what is the realistic
Battery Life for this camera? I am using 2500 mAh 1.2v batt. and I
get about 30-40 shots before the batt. dies.

Does this sound normal for this model and Batt. or an issue with the
camera?

says 275 shots with a KLIC-8000 battery. They also say: "the Z712's
battery life falls well below the average for the group".

Greetings David,

No, that is not normal. One thing you need to be sure of is that the
batteries are fully charged. Try using them a couple of times then charge
them again. Are you charging them on a dock for the camera or by charging in
a battery charger. What kind of batteries are they? If you are using a
charger, what kind of charger is it? How often do you use your camera?

Knowing this will give a little insight to your issue. In reality, even
using the many features of the Z712is, you should get more then 40 pictures.
