You want the Fuji Finepix Viewer program. From what I remember it installs the
required modules for using their older cameras in webcam mode. Unfortunately I
think you need the original CD before you can install the updates. It looks like
only updates are available from Fuji support.
You can find their updater for it under many camera models (except for the 30i),
but the same one works with all of them. When looking under their Mac software
it shows the 30i as being supported by the very same file for all their other
cameras. See if the updater will install. I don't have the bandwidth handy to
test these 40-50+meg files for you.
You can sometimes trick some installers that are looking for a previous copy or
the original CD by uncompressing the installer archive into their individual
files with WinRAR (only works on some installer packs) and then just clicking on
the embedded *.msi file. Bypassing all their 1st-stage security and installed
software checks. Alternately, you can interrupt the installation process by not
clicking "yes" or "continue" and then finding the files uncompressed for you in
Windows temp folders. Sometimes it just requires copying all those files to
another folder and then editing an INI file with Notepad to bypass the security
checks. Most INI files are self explanatory and you only need to change a 0 to 1
or 1 to 0 to turn on or off various security checking features.
You might also look for some freeware web-cam software, just search for it with
Google along with the requirement that it supports Fuji cameras. It may not have
to be directly from Fuji to allow use of that function. There's some amazing
programmers out there that love nothing better than to find a better way to do
what the camera company could not.
Alternately, beg and plead for someone to post the original CD in an image-file
format that you can use to burn a new but identical CD. Checking my catalog of
archives I see that it's only about 16 megs for v1.1 for a totally different
camera. I don't have the time nor place to post it for you as an experiment that
may not work, someone else might.
Or ... contact the company to obtain the CD. When doing some Google searches for
the software for you just now that seems to be the most popular solution in all
the forums talking about the same problem facing you.
