Does anyone out there know how to reset the maintenance tank on an
Epson 9600.
I remember reading in a post once that the chip can be reset and you
can replace the absorbent material with babies nappy material or
sanitary towel to save having to buy a new (expensive) replacement.

I don't know about older machines but I bought a chip resetter for "Epson
ink tank chips" from ink republic in the USA and use "Libra" to absorb the
mess. Basically all you have to do is short out the chip to reset it. There
is no battery in the resetter.
