I am planing on getting the D300 when my credit card cycle roles over in
a week or so. I have a few questions. Is it possible to control the
camera from a computer? If so what level of control do you have.
Shutter speed, aperture, focus distance, other settings? Obviously if
this is possible, you are going to need some software, is that something
that would come with the camera? Is there a public api so you can write
your own programs to control the camera or has some one hacked it and
documented how to control it?
Thanks for the input.

I used a few years old version. You can maybe turn AF on & off but not
manually focus. You can pretty much control every other setting though.
