My CS3 Beta expired today so I bought the commercially released CS3
Extended Online. I haven't had much chance to use it but I'm amazed that
it's still 'buggy' after the public beta trials. One of the early problems
reported by many people with Bridge CS3 Beta was that it did not work
properly with spanned dual monitors. The same problem persists in the
commercial version just released. I don't quite understand how things like
this can be left uncorrected in a commercial release. What ever happened
to quality control?

I dunno, but what method did you use to clean up/out the beta version?
Is the Bridge bug you mention the main thing, or is there oddity in PS
itself? And did you look for (and not find) a trial version of CS3? I
couldn't find one, a bit surprising, as my beta expired unexpectedly
soon yesterday.

I was also expecting the Beta to last longer. It surprised me when it
expired.
I uninstalled all the Beta stuff from the Windows Control Panel (PS &
Bridge had to be uninstalled separately.) I did not uninstall my CS2
version.
I never looked for a trial version of CS3. I didn't see much point in
doing so since I'd been using CS3 for a while now. I debated if I should
buy the "extended" version but I also have Premiere and After Effects, so I
figured I might as well get Photoshop CS3 Extended.
I haven't had enough time to do much testing. I knew of the problem with
Bridge and dual monitors because it had been discussed a lot in the Adobe
Lab forums when the Beta was first released and I had experienced the bug
first-hand. I knew exactly what to look for to see if the bug was fixed
and it wasn't. I find that disappointing. It will take me more time to
poke through the rest of PS.
The dual monitor thing does not really apply to that many users.
Most of the other fundamental bugs in Bridge and the Adobe converter, which
were annoying but could be worked around, seem to have been fixed.
I had some problems running some plug-ins with the beta that all work fine
in the commercial release on both XP and the hated/worthless/horrible Vista
OSes.
The commercial release also seems more stable and faster than the beta on a
dual core machine.
I believe most people who have used CS3 would strongly endorse the upgrade.

I also endorse the upgrade. I just think it's not very good quality
control for a software company to release a commercial product containing a
bug that was identified early-on in the public Beta. Bridge CS3 pretty much
doesn't work if you move it off the primary monitor. I also suspect you
might be surprised how many PS users use dual monitors.

It'll run in a Command Prompt. You'll be asked to enter level 1 or
level 2. Level 2 also uninstalls/cleans up Adobe Acrobat 8. There are
two additional levels, but they're hidden. That's levels 3 and 4. They
basically uninstall other Adobe products, so be careful if you decide
to use them.
Basically, if you run the Level 2, you should be fine. Then, reinstall
CS3. If the problems persist, I'd encourage you to contact Tech
Support.
Thanks for the reference Hal. I tried this today; followed the
instructions exactly. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem that
Bridge CS3 still has with dual monitors. I guess I'll go to the Adobe
Forums and post there. I'll try Adobe support as a last resort. I figure
they must know this problem is there since it was discussed so much during
the public Beta.
I have learned from the Adobe Forums that some of the known bugs affecting
dual monitors in Bridge CS3, including the one mentioned in my OP, have a
'work-around'. Turn on Color Management and turn on Software Rendering in
the Advanced tab of the Bridge "Preferences".
