Some years back I purchased a 5mpx Olympus Camedia C50 and have been
thrilled with it. I thought it time to upgrade and purchased a new Olympus
FE210 at 7.2mpx. I compared the two cameras. The FE210 is a disaster. I
don't understand why.
If you look at the leaves silouetted in the sky and the ripples in the
water, the Camedia has captured them. The FE210 has not.
The color of the grass and flowers is markedly different.
My questions:
Why is the resolution (focus) bad?
Why is the color saturation inferior?
Why is the 7mpx picture smaller than the 5mpx?
Is the new camera faulty?
Are ther some settings I should change?

The old one uses a larger sensor and has fewer pixels, which are much
larger than the CRAP sensor (most worthless P&S have the same ones
today) in the new one. You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear,
which is what the endless Chinese mills churning out cookie cutter
P&S's today are not even trying to do.
Beware of anything with the worthless 1/2.5" CCD in it.

No, this looks like a lens problem. Plenty of respectable cameras have
a 1/2.5" CCD.
