Why? The voltage and frequency is obviously within the input range of
the charger.
You will need either an adapter from the British G-type wall outlet to
whatever type of plug you have (you forgot to tell).
Or -IMO more convenient- if the power cord is detachable from the
charger get a power cord with the G-type plug and use that directly.

ITE = ?
But given a physical plug adaptors, you will be fine in the UK and the
rest of Europe.

Might it be easier to get a UK power supply? Saves having to use two boxes
instead of one.

Why? I don't know that particular charger, but typically they are
identical worldwide and the only difference is a different power cord
for each country. Just get power cord with a type G plug for the UK, no
need to purchase a whole charger.
Of course this works only if the charger has a detachable power cord,
but that is pretty much standard nowadays because it saves the
manufacturers a lot of money to standardize on the charger and localize
the power cord only.

Very rare these days for there to be a power cord at all. The chargers
plug directly into the wall, with no cord, just a flip-out plug. Still,
an adapter works okay, if a bit of a kludge.
The charger for the camera in question is the Canon CB-2LV (U.S.) CB-
2LVE (UK).

This actually costs them a lot more money than having different chargers
for different countries, if your volumes are high enough. None of the
Canon cameras use a power cord for the Li-Ion battery charger, it's too
much of a hassle, and one more thing to carry, and two more connectors
to worry about.

I stand corrected.
My Nikon chargers did come with power cords and personally I find them
very convenient for various reasons.

That's only true if "none" means "most"! ;-)
Its seems to be only countries using US plug types that get cordless
chargers. The rest of the world, including UK and Europe, get removable
power cords on their Canon chargers - because it IS cheaper.

Are you sure it is because of cost??
Perhaps removable power cords would need too many Safety Notices, or could
be too difficult for the average American. Remember, most of them can't
manage to use a knife and a fork at the same time.
