I having a problem and I know someone here can help.......
I've been using ACDSee 3.1 for years in sponsor mode. In the beginning
you contacted ACDSee every 30 days to renew, then they stopped having you to
connect
to make it work and the program was working fine for years. Just recently
the program stopped working and when it tried to connect to ACDSee in touch
service, it said my
trial period is over. I hate the new versions and would like to purchase or
reactivate 3.1.
I removed my version and cleaned the registry before downloading the one
from oldversion.com
It still says my trial period is over

You can get a serial from emule easily enough.

Contact ACDSEE. They are headquartered in Saanich, B.C., Canada. Near
Victoria on Vancouver Island. Beautiful place!

Have you contacted the vendor to see what they suggest?

I used 3.1 for several years and agree it is a lot more 'user friendly' than
the latest versions. I eventually upgraded to 5.0, and with a lot of
customization it acts very similar to 3.1 but with some useful additions,
like displaying Metadata. Since we're up to something like version 8 or 9
now, 5.0 should be available (fully functional) on magazine CDs, or the
trial versions on Oldversion.

Amazing how some programmes can hide registration information where you'll
never find it! No, as someone else said, you'll have to find a crack or
serial - there are plenty out there for 3.1 and 5.0.

The company started out in Arlington, Tx., and announced a move some
years ago to Victoria. I assumed they meant Victoria, Tx., but later
found out they moved to Canada. Later, I found myself there on
vacation, and ended up at a motel only a few blocks from their new
headquarters. Strange world. If you are ever there, don't miss
Butchart Gardens. Awesome place to take pictures!

Hi There!
It's amazing that you are having the same problem that I'm having. I
thought I was losing my mind or something! I have the Trial Version
of 3.1 as well, and I've always been able to connect to the "In touch"
service with no troubles. But lately, when I try to connect, I just
keep getting a message saying that it can't connect to the system at
this time and try changing the connection setting. ???? Tried
that........no luck. Since then the stupid service has
expired......and now I can't access the program which has really
ticked me off. I've tried emailing ACDsee about 100 times, and they
won't answer me. Have they gone out of business?? I've tried
downloading the program again......but it just keeps telling me that I
have to connect to the service to continue. I'm just going round &
round & round in a circle! I've just learned that they are close
by.......on the Island. I think it would be faster and more
productive to drive over there for answers!! Also......others have
posted a solution of getting a "serial" from "emule". Could someone
please explain that in plain english for those of us that aren't I.T.
Genius's !??
Scan any files you download with an up-to-date virus scanner. Some software
companies have started to insert their own trojans in the last year to try to
stop people from downloading from these places. The corrupt files are easy to
spot, there might be a "begin.exe" or "start.exe" file in the RAR files. Those
are NOT the patches. Those are the trojans being inserted by software companies.
(It's not the hackers you have to worry about, it's the software companies'
underhanded methods to destroy people's computers.) The original patches and
other things are all still intact in the files, just delete the one file that
might flag as a trojan, and use the rest as described in any include *.NFO file
where it will tell you which files to run or use. Those *.NFO files are simple
text files that can be read with any text reader. Most of the files are clean,
there's just a few sites that get listed at this search engine that the software
companies hijacked for their own use and loaded trojans in everything to stop
people from trying to use them. If one site's files can't be downloaded, try
another down the list. There's hundreds of them. Eventually you'll find one that
works, usually on the first try.
I found a listing for name/serial numbers that work for ACDSee older
versions
----------
I'm using ACDSee v2.42 name: CHENZY | s/n: 470381868121327
My list of usable name/serial no's has:
ACDSee v3.0 ? name: Jean C Desilets | s/n: 927938008243102441
Try it, it may work for your version,
Chuck
