XPS720 new BIOS

Dell has posted a mew BIOS, A04, marked urgent, for the XPS720, dated
12/17/07.

I flashed mine 12/31 and no hiccups thus far.

Dell released BIOS updates in December that were marked "Urgent" for a
number of models. I updated the BIOS in my XPS410. This one said "Improved
NIC Compatibility in Gigabit network environment". The one for the XPS720
didn't say what it "fixed".

That was going to be my next question. What did the flash BIOS update for
the XPS720 allegedly fix or address?

One might think they'd toss the notes up there with the download.

where you having issues with the xps720?
in the past month, i noticed about 4 or 5 cold crashes and restarts .
i guess that could be what they mean by "urgent" fix for reliability.

Since early Sept (2007) - mine was originally an XPS700 (09/2006),
upgraded with a new motherboard per Dell's motherboard upgrade offer.

No, only issue was video editing glitches when running XP Pro x64.
Dropped back to the 32-bit version and all is well.
