Default what might this be worth?

Hi. I'm considering donating the system below to charity, because I
think I might have trouble selling it. To be able to get a tax
deduction from the donation, though, I need to determine it's worth.

The computer works, but one of the DVD drives is not being recognized.
Also, in erasing the hard drive, I seem to have done something to
prevent information from getting from the video cards to the monitor;
someone with more experience could probably fix it. And finally, I
think one of the fans may need to be replaced soon.

With that in mind, any guess as to what this might be worth?

Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2
Two Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz processors
Two 512Mb memory sticks
Raid 0 Volume 465.6Gb hard drive (2 drives)
RADEON 9800 XT 256Mb video card
RADEON 9800 XT - Secondary 256Mb video card
USB Audio Device
Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)
Microsoft Windows XP Home
Standard floppy disk drives
Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers
Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2
Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D4
Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D7
Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24DE
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller

Thanks for any help,
Mike

Have no idea given the fact that it's not currently working.

Do you have all of the original discs and shipping (Dell) box?

I might be willing to purchase it from you depending on what you'd want for
it.

a P4 3.2 w/ 1gb is still a nice box.
could be worth as high as $500.
sounds like it would be easy to get back working for an experienced
person unless you blew the MB.

True enough. But Jay's point (I think) is that since it has a Dell
(proprietary) board, that cost from Dell would be excessive - and
availability and cost on ebay might not be cheap, either.

Hi -- if you want to donate it to charity, you probably want to do it
locally. However, I have a great charity that _needs_ computers
desperately. I would pay for shipping. Feel free to e-mail me at
journey@merr.com.

Unfortunately, charities themselves have very little in-house technical
expertise, but they are generally happy to take fully functional computers. Some
charities have technical mavens who get computers working again. Even in its
present state of disrepair, the system is worth a couple of hundred bucks just
for the parts... Ben Myers

Yep. About what I was estimating. It's an Intel 875P machine.
