i'm sorry to say, i don't like your config for the following reasons.
1. only a 1 yr warranty.
2. it is AMD, not Intel.
3. the 20inch is wide, which is much cheaper than the non-wide, which is
better in my opinion.
4. i dont like vista, but that's a personal preference.

you could get a similar Intel config and pay the same price right now on
the small business site, and get a 3 yr warranty.

check this out:
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...=bpdefge&s=bsd

priced at $766 on my screen before tax/shipping

I would not buy it -- I would want an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

I like non-wide, but I seem to be in the minority. To me they make
more sense because they have more verticle resolution which is better
for things like web pages.

i meant to say the non-wide is better. that is why they cost more.

Not to be a crab, but you asked.

I wouldn't have either an Inspiron or Vostro desktop, and certainly not at a
price point above $600 (bundled with a monitor).

I'd rather take that $800+ bucks and find a quad-core (or Core2Duo) XPS 410
from the outlet.

jmo.

I wouldn't buy an Athlon based PC right now. The Core 2 Duos are much
more powerful for the money.

Hi!

Looks like a nice config. Quite honestly, I prefer the AMD parts to
Intel. (Now if only Dell offered a few more models with AMD parts
inside.)

Things I'd have done differently (for whatever it might be worth--
probably not much!):

Floppy drive (yes, even today)
Windows XP instead of Vista (yech!)
No DataSafe (do you really trust them with your data?)
No AOL or Earthlink (if you don't use them and had a choice)

Other than that...it looks like a nice system.

Overall okay tho I prefer some minor changes. Pricey tho for this
type desktop. Do yourself a favor and ask us BEFORE you order to
save yourself from cancelling or learning things after the fact.
