Vostro 1500 times

CPU and RAM bound job (no I/O, no paging, but
takes lots of RAM memory)

T5470 1.6GHz 2MB Cache 233.17 seconds
T7250 2.0GHz 2MB Cache 214.80 seconds
T7300 2.0GHz 4MB Cache 183.58 seconds

apparently the thing is hung up pretty much
by RAM speed, so more cache buys more than
faster CPU.

Maybe 2MB cache is matched more to the (now) default
1.4GHz CPU.

The 800MHz FSB makes it a lot faster than the 533MHz
Inspirons

T2250 1.7GHz 2MB Cache 274.95 seconds

in any case.

All core 2 duo CPUs.
