Ok, if this is so, and there is no reason it want come out Feb 15th.
Will this SP1 clean up unneeded updates from our disk drives?
Or will they just set on our systems taking up space.
I tried to install Vista SP1 RC Refresh onto my spare DELL Inspiron 530
Desktop. After two hours of upload, install, configuring updates etc. it
appeared to get to the final stage and then found an error and rewound
including a Vista repair install.
I trust that the final released Vista SP1 will be more robust.
Yet, the beta XP SP3 installed on my much abused XP test system in 20
minutes without any problems.
Ahh well Microsoft, back to the drawing board I guess...
You can delete all the old restore points with Vista, like XP, can't you? That
may be the best you can do. I would bet that Vista SP1 is not written so
thoroughly as to allow you to clean up the old stuff. Nothing else they write
is cleanly designed and coded. Why is this any different? ... Ben Myers

YOU have been victimized by a Microsoft sales pitch to help them beta test their
products. Want to come over and whitewash my fence or paint my house? It's
really fun... Ben Myers

I dunno. You are one hopeful person. After seeing what Microsoft does and does
not do with Windows since the original version 1.03, I have lost all hope. Heck,
they couldn't get it right even with DOS, which often lagged way behind the
hardware of the time... Ben Myers
Maybe its inadequate project leaders! If they had people from the real
world, who have
handled system level applications design and systems programming
backgrounds, maybe
they could get things straightened out. With all those jobs going
overseas, there should
be plenty in the job market here in the US. Unless MS is doing the
same, *Outsourcing*
there program development!
