Can't help you there. I've been using perfect disk for years now and
don't usually stare at the screen. Usually I have perfect disk set up
to schedule automatic defrags during the night on my pc's.
Micro$oft probably got a lawsuit that the defrag visuals made someone ill,
hyponotized them, or maybe even resulted in lost productivity. I guess that
this is conclusive proof that Vista is not all eye candy. Some was actually
taken away. WOW! ... Ben Myers

Well, I'll tell you one thing. I was so upset about this that I
spilled a _very_ hot cup of McDonald's coffee on both my leg and my
laptop, and I am going to sue McDonalds AND Microsoft for millions.
Also, in order to get the pretty and mesmerizing defrag graphics back
I am going to have to downgrade to Windows 3.1 which was always the
best in that regard, as long as I can find drivers for it.
First though I promised my defrag-sponsor that before I do any
downgrades I would instant message him first, and I know he's going to
have me attend more defrag-anonymous meetings.

I too, am powerless over defrag. But admitting it IS the 1st step.

If not, there is always the 12-step program of Defraggers Anonymous. The first
five steps have the letters L-I-N-U-X. The 6th step puts them together. The
remaining steps include installation and far few reboots than the usual
Microsoft reboot monotony... Ben Myers

I 've been on Diskeeper, 2007 is awesome, slick GUI and neat features.
Stopped the scheduled defrags and have got it running all the time, no
issues whatsoever.

No Paul, I'm not but I think the newest version of PerfectDisk is
Vista capable. I'm not sure if my version would work in Vista or not.
When I go to Vista, if I must upgrade PerfectDisk in order for it to
work right I will. I like PerfectDisk a lot. One of the best
software (no errors yet running it often in XP for a couple of years).
Just curious if anyone knows how Diskeeper vs PerfectDisk compares?
Years ago, it would go back and forth but I haven't kept up with it
lately. PerfectDisk for me has been perfect to my knowledge. Sorry
if I sound like a commercial ... disclaimer: I have no finanical
interest to PerfectDisk.
