I would use the Dell-supplied ones. For some I even go straight to
the vendor's site, such as ATI -- I get the most recent drivers for
the video card. Of course I would take it on a case by case basis,
but if you have an add-on sound card I would look at the Dell and
vendor drivers and use those over what Vista uses. Also, update the
Bios. There is a miniscule chance that a unique combination of
drivers might cause a problem. Basically, it's just because they
hadn't been tested together. The chance of that happening is very
unlikely. Vista has that metric -- I forgot what it's called; I think
it's on a scale of 1 to 5. Just for curiousity I would check that
first with the drivers Vista installed, and then with whatever
"improvements" you make. That's just my opinion. Once you get a good
baseload I recommend you become familiar with Acronis True Image 10
and take an image that you can restore to.

Stay with the native drivers unless/until you discover a problem or some
loss of necessary feature/function. Update as that might dictate.
No need to create issues where there are none at the moment. The Vista
driver issue(s) for some devices continue to be an adventure.
On my XPS410 (same system as the 9200) I'm using all the standard Vista
drivers supplied with Vista including drivers for my Sounblaster X-Fi,
exccept for the drivers for my video card ( eVga 8800GTS). For the 8800GTS,
I'm using the latest drivers straight from nVidia.
I've been running Vista Home Preminum for about a month now with no issues.

I see we have two normally sound philosophies warring with each other.
The "if it ain't broke don't fix it" theory matched up against the
"you really ought to install the supplied drivers" theory. I tend to
the if it ain't broke theory. But if you get weirdness, you might want
to install Dell's drivers.
If there is a bios update to provide support for Vista, however, I
WOULD install that.

I wouldn't do that unless she's lacking function or having errors that the
BIOS flash would fix.
Did you read some of Tom (Scales and others) experiences when flashing the
BIOS on these models?
Certain configurations suffered intermittent/serious hard disk performance
problems with specific BIOS versions.....

Sorry for not answering your post first but I just admire the
"@budweiser.com" email address. Just seems like it has a nice ring to
it when you have to tell someone verbally my email address is
___ @budweiser.com !!
On topic:
If it were me, I'd leave the drivers alone. " If it's not broken,
don't fix it " they use to say and I think it should apply for Vista
at the present time. Be grateful your OS recognized all your
necessary drivers. I'd be reluctant unless you make a back up first,
to change things.
