Is there anyplace (hopefully near St. Louis, Missouri) that has laptops
recently replaced off lease for sale? I used to have a local contact, but
they appear to have folded.

Herb -
Dell actually has a site through DFS (Dell Financial Services) for that type
of machine, some of which (you'd have to check the tags at the support site)
still have remaining warranty.
I've got parts and whole systems from them without any problems.

I've purchased from DFS before and was VERY pleased. I purchased a
Latitude D810 with 2gb memory, and 60gb hd and a leather case. Had 8
months of warranty left. Only paid $595. Even with new, larger
hardrive (about $75 for 120GB from newegg) it was a great deal.
Excellent prices -- better than Dell outlet, and good service. You
need to check specs on each one to see if it still has warranty
remaining. If it does, you can renew at end of warranty.
However, DFS tends to only have business type machines.

---------------------------------
My experience as well, except that when I purchased (several Latitudes) from
DFS it was when they actively listed on ebay (which they no longer do) and
bidding was allowed rather than a set list price.
All of the half-dozen or more machines I received from them were in
reasonably good shape and a good value at the time.

Thanks to both Lisa and you, Stew, for your responses. I'll Call them as I'm
looking for 25 - 50 laptops and can maybe negotiate a deal of some sort.

I would expect with that kind of volume you should be able to work something
out. Again, the problem comes in if you want remaining warranty on all of
them. Each tag would have to be identified/warranty verified.
what spec are you looking for and more importantly, how much are you
looking to spend for each?
when talking the volume your talking, my thought is to go new rather
than used.
