That's a lot of money for that capacity. Are you sure that's what
you want? You might want to read the reviews on newegg for this
drive too (if you didn't already).
it is a standard 2.5" x 9.5mm size and has the sata interface that you need
for the vostros 1720.
don't have first hand experiance with this particular unit but everything
indicates that it should work just fine.
