Reinstalling operating systems and drivers with new Dell PC's
I was browsing thru the Dell website, looking at their new home PC's. I
went thru the customize selection, picking and choosing my way thru the
options. Actually, I have no intension of buying a new computer. I was
just curious to see what is currently available from Dell and how much they
cost.
One thing I didn't see was the option to include an operating system CD
(or DVD) so that you can format the hard drive. Plus a CD (or DVD) that
contains all the drivers. Does Dell still make that available when you buy
a new PC? That is very important to me.
When I get a new computer, one of the first things I do is format the
hard drive to remove all the 'crapware.' Doing this really improves the
performance of your machine. My 15 month old E510 had a ton of junk
preinstalled that slowed down the computer considerably, as well as
generating error messages and system crashes.

They're standard now. Clearly the $10 fee resulted in way too many
support requested from people that didn't buy them.
