I just ordered an E520 with built-in video. I want to get a GeForce 7600
card My budget is in the $$125 - $150 range. There's a lot of brands out
there (ASUS/BFG/Chaintech/eVGA/etc.).
I've bought almost all of them and never had a problem. If you want
quiet, find a 7600GS with passive cooling (heatsink) instead of a fan.
I believe mine is a PNY

What would you recommend as the steps to install it? I'm leaning toward:
1) Power up and set up the Dell
2) Power off and insert the card
3) Install drivers
4) disable on-board video
Is that what you would do or is there a better process?

That should work fine. As I recall, you can't use integrated and PCI-e
at the same time.
Looks like a nice card, but perhaps overkill. Unless you're doing very
high end games, 512mb is overkill. I also can't tell if it is fanless
(not all 7600GS) are.
I might look at PV-T73P-UDJ3 (put it in the buy.com search field). $25
cheaper, free shipping and passive.

Great.... You're right about the fan. I have a game called S.T.A.L.K.E.R
and want to go with Halo 3. This should do it?, eh?

I would think so. You can always go faster (8800GT
I think the 7600GS is a nice middle ground card.

XFX gets great user ratings. I've been using a BFG for some time without any
issues.
I ordered the XFX PV-T73P-UDJ3 card that you recommended. I did find
what looks like the same card (PV-T73P-YDJ3) with 512MB on ZipZoomFly
for $119.99 w/$20 rebate. However, it's back ordered and every place I
found it (no rebate) was out of stock, so I forged ahead..... Already
downloaded the NVidia drivers.

Sounds good. I only have 256MB even on my 8600GT and don't feel like I
am missing anything.
