I've used Belarc several times and found it reliable. I can't be 100%
certain but I got a bad feeling that you really have a 800 chip. If
you go into the bios, I think it will tell you the speed as well.

Actually, the BIOS reports the chip correctly (1800 Hz)

Sorry Kevin but I'm at a loss to figure this out. I hope when you
find out, you can post back here to tell us what was the solution.

Thanks so much. Also, I can boot from a Linux distribution and the processor
shows coorect (1800 Hz); therefore, I'm sure it's a Vista issue. I'm about
to wipe it clean and throw XP on it. So far, I'm not impressed with Vista.
