Default No boot device on Dell Poweredge 6300

Hi

I have just bought an Dell PowerEdge 6300/400 from e-bay. The disks
have been wiped I assume.

When I power up the machine, a message comes up saying 'no boot device
available, F1 to retry, F2 for setup utility"

Just previous to this message coming up, I've tried to CTRL-M to
create an array, but nothing happens, a message saying 'firmware
spinning drives' comes up as soon as the 'press CTRL M for RAID array'
comes up.

I'd like to install Linux on this machine....I put the Linux CD's in
and thought I had configured the OS from there, but as soon as the
installation finished and it said to remove the CD's and reboot, I am
confronted with this 'no boot device' message again!!

I'm not familiar with Dell hardware. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Specs are below;

SPECIFICATION:

Dell PowerEdge 6300 Server

P2 QUAD 400Mhz
512 MB Ram
6x 9gb Hard drives

CD-Rom Drive
SCSI AIC-7890, AIC-7860
3x power supply

I am wondering whether the array has been deleted, which is fine - but
how can I go into the array configuration and recreate one?

Many thanks in advance

Don't have much, but I have a couple of links that might help:

http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...r/en/index.htm

Dell forums at support.dell.com :

My guess would be that you'll have to set the system BIOS to accomodate your
specific RAID configuration, and then go into the RAID BIOS and
configure/create the array.

Good luck.
