the L866 does not use the older screw=on mounting rails for the second
hard drive, which sits between the floppy drive and the cd/dvd drive.
these are the older GREEEN rails.
it uses a set of black rails which are fixed to the hard drive by spring
tension on a spring-like wire which runs between the two holes in the
rails and has two projections at the ends which enter into the screw holes
on the ide drive.
i tried the rails from the floppy drive, but it is too small.
anyone have a pair of these, or know where to get them?

page 3-8 of the manual indicates that a spare set of rails are included with
the system and located under the front bezel. http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...dcol/3558p.pdf
if they have gone missing then you can find them on ebay (one such listing
is found under item number 380052888432).
