I've done a little checking and the answer appears to be "no".
However, looking at the user manual it does look like the modem could be
removed and replaced.
There is of course also the Mini-PCI card slot however we would have to
remove the existing WiFi card. Perhaps if there were a dual card available
which did WiFi and Wireless WAN.
Currently the user has a PCMCIA card but three times he's damaged the card
slot (the card slot is very weak).

Never heard of one. The 9300 preceded EVDO as an internal device, so I'd
guess no.
