I looking to upgrade my 256 mb GForce 6800 card that came in my
Dimension 8400 MCE, looking through Newegg I see there is a couple
manufactures that have HDMI out cards, but most do not have great
ratings from users. I am not a gamer but would like to get the best
video out to my 50" Sony HD WXRD.
Any recommendations or suggestions?, would like to have kept the cost of
the card to under $100.00 but am also willing to spend an extra $100 to
get the right card.

Your 6800 is an excellent card. You're not going to see any improvement
with a new card. You can use a DVI->HDMI cable to connect to your
current card.

Thanks tom, I was thinking the GF 7600 GS and GT's along with the 7900
variations would be better than the plain 6800 that came with the D8400.

Not really. HDTV doesn't require that much power. In fact, I use the
integrated Intel GMA950 video to drive mine. Another has a 6600 which
is also excellent. If you are a gamer, then consider an upgrade.
Otherwise, the 6800 is fine.
