Default Difference in Display Options

What is the difference between SXGA+ and UXGA? The SXGA+ is offered on
the E1505 Laptop and the UXGA on the E1705 as the highest option. I
was curious about the differences? Why don't both laptops offer the
same?

They all extend the graphic area of the display compared to the standard
WXGA screen. More desktop space for better graphics, video, etc. Major
down side to the higher resolution screens is that text font size
decreases, on a small 15.4 screen in the E1505 with a UXGA screen you
almost need a magnifying glass to see the text fonts in the native
resolution of the monitor, probably why it is no longer offered..

For a E1505 I recommend the SXGA+ unless your laptop is dedicated for
certain tasks that use the UXGA, such as web development or graphic
design.

SXGA+ gives you a lot of screen space. UXGA text would be harder to
read in most situations.

Note: I am saying this from the perspective of someone who needs
trifocals! (I haven't got them yet, so I am constantly switching
glassses and reading glasses)

I don't usually just say to do something, but for this go with the
SXGA+.
