Default Dell's Employee Purchase Plan

My wife's workplace uses Dell equipment so she's entitled to purchase Dell computers under the Employee Purchase Plan (EPP).

According the literature she received from Dell: "EPP is your best value on a Dell home PC". A footnote adds: "EPP discounts [can be] taken on top of most generally advertised Dell Home and Home Office Sales prices and promotions..."

Is this for real or are there 'gotchas' to be wary of?

Here's one 'gotcha' I'm a little concerned about: "Employee Purchase Program (Dell Marketing, LP) [is] not associated with Dell Home and Home Office Sales (Dell Catalog Sales, LP)." What does that mean in terms of warranty and technical support?

I've purchased through the EPP, way back when (4 years ago?) they sent
me an add that had a great price for a desktop. I don't believe that
the statement "EPP discounts [can be] taken on top of most generally
advertised Dell Home and Home Office Sales prices and promotions..."
is a true statement. I've configured similar machines using both
groups, and prices are the same, and whenever I've tried to take EPP
discounts on top of Home/Home Office Sales configurations, the Home/
Home Office Sales discounts disappeared. I thought I was using the
website incorrectly, so I called our company's EPP representative. He
informed me that the Dell site was correctly removing the discounts
offered by the Home/Home Office Sales, and that there is no advantage
to the EPP, other than the EPP prices are always offered, not just at
sale time. He said that EPP prices are generally 12% lower than non-
sale Home/Home Office Sales prices. I've found that to be true.

The best prices are when Dell has a good sale, you find good coupons,
or through the Dell outlet.

As far as warranty is concerned, the EPP warranties, I believe, are
the same as what you'd get from Dell regardless of from which group
you purchased your machine. There are no 'gotchas'.
