My computer is stalling at start up, only makes it to the Dell screen
and half ways across the load bar and just stops. No beeps or anything
go off and ive tried unplugging everything, and trying to get to the
bios doesn't work either. any ideas?
If the computer never makes it past the Dell splash screen, it has hung waiting
for some device to respond. The only real possibilities are a drive (SATA,
PATA, hard drive, CD/DVD drive) and floppy drive. The other possibility is that
the C2032 motherboard battery has lost its ability to keep correct CMOS
settings. Assuming that you have a desktop computer, not a notebook, open up
the chassis, unplug the wall power, and carefully remove the CMOS battery. It
is held by a clip. Plug in the wall power and see what happens. If you can
get to the prompt that asks you to hit F2 to enter the CMOS setup, unplug the
power, replace the battery ($2 to $3 in most stores) and have at it again.

Yep. Or there's a small chance it might be an external USB device also.
