Got an PE 1850 server that connects to a powervault 220s array. The
raid controller card went down, which was then replaced but it doesn't
see the array. if you use ctrl +m to get into the raid bios if the
Powervault is connected you cant get in , remove the PV and it drops
into the raid bios no problem.
So ideas invited, please, my only thought is does the array need to be
rebuilt?

Is the new controller card you purchased the same as the old card, and
on either the same or higher firmware revision?
You should be able to do this, last time I checked this you had an
error message the first time the controller started up without any
configuration, and it could then see the configuration on the disk
when you booted into the BIOS. The only thing was this was a PERC5 on
a 1950, which you can choose the active controller from the one BIOS.
