Default Connecting WD SATA to Dimension E510

I'm want to add a drive to my E5150/E510, which currently has one 80GB
hard drive, running WMCE.

I'm a little confused about what is needed as far as connections to
the motherboard are concerned, between Western Digital's OEM vs. their
retail versions of their drives. From buyer comments, it appears that
even with the retail version, I'd need to buy a different SATA data
cable.

OEM, it doesn't come with a data cable. I've opened up the E510, and
I see I'll need about a 24" right angle SATA data cable.

Retail, sounds like it comes with a data cable, but still not right
angle.

I assume getting power to the drive is not a problem, and no
additional cables/adapters are needed.

So, it looks like there's no advantage to buying the retail version.
Yes/No? (I don't care about the CD.)

Thanks

you are correct,
just buy the oem,
but make sure you get at least the 3 yr or 5 yr warranty.
some places try to give only a 1 yr warranty.

then buy the right angle cable separately.

You may or may not need the less popular right-angle SATA cable. Maybe a
vanilla straight one would do? Not sure what the clearances are inside the E510
chassis without looking at one myself.

Careful with the warranty, whether OEM or retail. With retail, you get a
pretty box, mounting screws, the SATA cable and maybe a better warranty.
