Configuring wireless internet with Inspiron 9400 and Vista.

Finally got an internet connection using my Netgear DG834G but only when i
also have the network cable
connected .When i pull out the network cable i lose the internet connection.
What am i doing wrong?.
I have the wireless symbol showing on the modem/router and my laptop shows a
strong wireless signal.

You probably do not have the wireless client configured properly. The
most likely issue is the wrong encryption configuration including
properly setting all of the parameters and the encryption key(s).
