When one has been spending one's time in the darker quarters of
the Usenet for a while ("last few weeks" would have been bad
enough, "last few years" is beyond the pale ...), it would
behoove one when returning from beyond the pale to observe the
old Usenet netiquette advice to "lurk in a new newsgroup you are
joining for a while before posting anything."

This is a VERY Pro-Dell group.

That's not downhill. That's expanded market presence, to compete with HPaq in
all those retail outlets. Any obvious facts as to Dell's going downhill? Hey,
the whole computer industry has been on a long-time downhill slide in product
quality, customer support, etc because everybody wants to buy a computer for
next to nothing. You get what you pay for, especially when you shop looking
only at the price... Ben Myers

I'd borrow "Fair and Balanced" from the Fox News Network, were it not for the
stigma attached to the alleged news from that source. But Dell does get its
share of critiques and outright criticism here, as well as some positive vibes
and help for people in trouble with their Dells... Ben Myers

Why is it bad that they've opened up their business model?

Well duh. This is a user-to-user help forum. Not a bash-Dell forum.
We're here to help fellow Dell users.
